End of the Term info for 8th Graders

January 16th marks the end of Term 2 and the completion of art class for 8th graders. They will be transferring to Spanish class for Terms 3 and 4.

All work from Term 2 must be placed in art folders to be grade by the week of January 12tth.

These lessons are....

• 1 point perspective Rooms
• Fantasy Landscapes

Our last Art test is scheduled  for January 15 for CASE team and January 13 for the GOLD team

Case: Friday, November 14th
Gold: Tuesday, November 18th

Please review your notes that were written in your sketchbooks from our in class discussions and also any handouts I have given you this year. Especially notes from the elements of value and form.

Day of the Dead Skulls

Student's are currently working on creating clay skulls inspired by the rituals of the Mexican Holiday - 

The Day of the Dead.

Pumpkin Still Life's!

It's that time of year! The fall has approached so we are doing pumpkin still life's to hone in on our shading skills! We are working with The Element of Value and Form. After practicing shading in forms, we are now looking at real life observation drawings and drawing what we see, not just what is in our imagination. Check out the progress our student's are making!

LEGO PORTRAITS

Every 8th grade student created a portrait of themselves in the form of a Lego!
This lesson really honed in on individuality and personal invention. 

For Fun: Some 8th grade teachers, administrators and staff also made a lego portrait..can you find theirs?

Lesson Objective...

Students created a Lego version of themselves incorporating….

•personal elements to the portrait that represents their style,  hobbies etc.

• variety of materials and real and implied textures as clothes, hair etc.

•color theory and monochromatic colors to create backgrounds for an exhibit design concept
